Yurei/Night Vision/Adversum/2012 CD Review

Yurei  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  plays  a  very  avant  garde  and  experimental  form  of  rock  with  some  black  metal  influences  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  album  "Night  Vision"  which  was  released  by  Adversum.

Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  drumming  with no  fast  playing  or  blast  beats  present  on  this  recording,  while  the  saxophones  when  utilized  bring  a  very  dark  and  avant  garde  sound  to  the music  along  with  a  brief  use  of  synths,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with  heavy  experimentall  rock  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  are  all  very  strange,  dark  and  avant  garde  experimental  rock  riffs  with  somewhat  of  a  metal  feeling  to  the  riffing  while  not  capturing  the  heaviness  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  are  mostly  clean  singing  avant  garde  vocals  along  with  a  brief  use  of  demonic  chanting,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  occult  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  where  you  can  hear  all  of the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.

In  my  opinion  Yurei  are  a v ery  great  sounding  avant  garde/experimental  rock  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of   this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Reborn  In Reveries"  "Diminished  Disciple"  "Dali  By  Night"  and  "Cranial  Echoes".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
