Atomtrakt/Sperrstelle Nordost/Steinklang/2009 CD Review

Atomtrakt are a band from Switzerland that is a side project of the guy from Vinterriket and in this project he goes for a more Apocalyptic/ Martial Industrial sound and this is a review of their 2009 album "Sperrstelle Nordost" which was released by Steinklang.

Drums are mostly slow and militaristic type beats, while the synths have a very dark feel and you can hear elements of ambient and classical music, as for the acoustic guitars they utilize a lot of finger picking and full chords to give the music a neo-folk feel.

Vocals are mostly aggressive that also contain a good amount of clean singing with a lot of spoken word passages and samples, while the lyrics are written in German and deal with the situation of Switzerland in the 2nd world war/cold war, as for the production it has a very dark and powerful feel.

In my opinion Atomtrakt are a very good band and this album should be in the collection of every dark ambient and martial industrial fans collection. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blut Und Erde" Flug In Den Tod' and "Stunde Null". RECOMMENDED BUY.
